Inspired by The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai

Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849) was a prominent Japanese ukiyo-e artist renowned for his woodblock prints, paintings, and sketches. Among his most celebrated works is "The Great Wave off Kanagawa," created between 1830 and 1832 as part of his series "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji." This iconic print depicts a towering wave threatening boats off the coast of Kanagawa Prefecture, with Mount Fuji visible in the background. The composition masterfully combines dynamic movement with serene permanence, capturing the transient nature of life against the backdrop of enduring mountains. Hokusai's innovative use of Prussian blue ink and Western perspective techniques in this piece significantly influenced both Japanese and Western art, inspiring artists like Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh.
